First i want to thank speedguide for helping me with all theproblems ive had in the past concerning my dsl and network setup.
Ijust bought a linksys befsr41(1.39firmware) and hooked up my network. Works great. But when I want to serve a game of Rogue Spear, i have problems. I tried to foward the ports, but linksys says i have to disable DCHP and assign static IP's to the computers. WHen i do that, i get no internet access. If i DMZ the computer, it will work, but it takes 2-3 minutes for the game to launch. When I was running PPPoE alone, games started instantly. And with the router, only DSL players can join, no cable. NO idea what thats all about. But its the truth, Ive tested it. So I installed newest version of rasspppoe over my current settings. If i bypass the router and use the dialer, i connect fine to the internet. I want to know if having PPPoE software plus using the router is bad? all those protocols arents goning to slow me down are they? Anyone done the same with thier linksys?
