Well... lots of ya'll know that I've been trying everything under the sun to go fast, and believe me... I have tried EVERYTHING I have seen.
This is what works best for my PC and connection, out of EVERYTHING I have seen here and everywhere else on the web...
this is from http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
"DefaultRcvWindow"="32767"
this is the speedguide.net patch
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000020
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000010
Im on WinME, 256MB RAM, RoadRunner cable... your mileage may vary GREATLY.
:rolleyes:
Have you tried getting a new nic card:confused:

Two no-name NICs and 1 3COM NIC. Keep in mind... I think that some caps are "tighter" than others. RoadRunner tells me that I can get "as much as" 2000 down and 356 up. With these settings I'm getting 2300 down and 380 up, which is the best I've achieved.
I wish I knew some other people on twjam.rr.com so we could compare notes. Anybody out there??
dslreports.com go to tools then speed test, do any speed test and then scroll to the bottem and it says post your results or something like that. then click compare you crap to other in <your domain>, gee this is boring isn't it.:sleep: :sleep: :sleep: :sleep: :sleep: :sleep: :sleep: :sleep:

Just sharing...
:)
Navas, I;m fixin to jump, my friend something is wrong, this CAP thing you refer to, 2000 what down, Kb or Kilobyes, which still does not make sense as my cap on @home is 1.5 MegaBytes
Now you get 2300 Kilobits from pitstop which is 287.5 KiloBytes
how is that near 2000, Navas, think I'll jump out of plane with no chute, call cable company, demand truck roll (House call) and get to the bottom of this if you ever want to dim some lights, lol:) :) :) :)
Next time you formatt do not delete anything with Fix-it, thats probably why you are like you are, just don't delete anything with it, I don't as I don't know whats it's deleting and may be something you need :) :)
I think I may know what the problem is :) :cool: :cool:
Not sure this is spelled right but you must spell it right, put disk that came with Fix-it in and reboot, it will boot off this disk, it will tell you on screen all kinds of stuff, but the only thing you care about is if HINMEM.SYS (Not sure if it's spelled right) is missing.
Once you see it is, eject disk and reboot. Bring up system information, click on tools and then system configuration, I'm trying to remember all this, OK on there shold be extract file, the file is on Windows 98 disk, not ME, put it on and run test at pitstop, but with that itty bitty Navas RWIN I don't know what you will get, try old one 554800, later dude:) :) :)
Oh yea bright lights, up on top of page in Tweaking, click on user cp, then edit profile and turn your E-mail on, you have it off or I would have wrote and told you big time,hehe,lol:) :) :)
