ok ok I have cablenut installed. This is the result. I wonder if I can go higher.
My Spec is:
Win ME
256 PC-133 SD RAM
20 Gb 5400 RPM HD
AT&T @home cable at Missouri
TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 54 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

ohh.....something weird is that when i first connect to a download site. When it first downloading, it is running at 500 or 600 k per sec but it will slowly drop to like 100 to 150 k per sec. Is that what u call packet loss ? How to avoid that ? Sometimes I can get a stable download speed of 300 or 400 k per sec at off peak time and 100 to 200 k at peak hour.
dropping speeds during downloads is normal, if you get some download manager like download accelerator plus your downloads will steady

ooopsss....sorry I forgot.....It is Athlon 900 Mhz without any overclocking. Pls help Lobo and tahnks in advance
Try these RWIN's (Default Rvc Window)
1 at a time in box on adjuster inside 4.2 on desktop. GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize-BLANK
Save to registry at bottom and reboot each time you change value in adjuster
Check analyzer here at Speedguide to be sure you have RWIN in, thank you
Try: 64240, 522680, 524176 or 531440:) :)

Do your speed test at www.pcpitstop.com and select the number you like best, the fastest, check analyzer to see if RWIN is in, you do not have to show me analyzer results each time, good luck:) :)

Man u reply was fast !!!!! I'm at work now but I still have access to internet. Hey lobo....I'm sorry I dun understand what u mean by "Check analyzer here at Speedguide to be sure you have RWIN in" :D :D
RWIN in ??? What analyzer??
In my signature it says test tweak here, click on that, it is same test you took above, see where it says 64240, thats your RWIN, take speed test where it says above:) :)

Ok I got what u mean. U mean I just need to test my tweak again and look at the RWIN window. It should display 64240 right ? After that I should reboot machine everytime i changed my RWIN and test the download and upload speed at http://www.pcpitstop.com to see which RWIN gave the highest speed ? Am I right ?
I wonder if the tweaking will help my crappy upload speed as well ? Becox I tot it is only help in my download speed.
Whatever number you put in adjuster, save, reboot that same number should be on analyzer as RWIN:) :)

Yes Sir , Thank you Sir :2cool:
I will test it tonight at midnight when the net is not that busy. :p
Also some Tips on help page below in signature, 2nd page at bottom, plus how to do speed test, might want to check it out:) :) :)

I wonder how people test their upload speed ? Like I wanto see what is the highest and lowest it can get. Like I heard people said ...it started at 30 K then drop to 20 K ....what they use and how they tested that ?
You can test upload speed at www.pcpitstop.com also, by itself or by taking whole test and clicking on internet at end of test:) :)

Lobo, www.pcpitstop.com won't give me test results until I DL their Java thingy. When I DL it, a key is installed in my registry and some settings are changed. Is all of that necessary?
Yes and it does not hurt your system, they have a lot of good tests over there:) :)
