Ok guys I am on the downhill setting up my home network.
Everything thing seems OK with the host computer ,laptop, linksys, zonalram, and personal wegb server.

I also setup my laptop for my network at work.

My question is?? Can I setup my printr from my host computer at home from the LPT port??

Or does that printer have to be connected somehow thru the router ??

I cannot see it in network neighborhood.

Thanks

Yes, have the File and Print sharing service loaded on the host. Next, right click your printer and share it. Easiest to use NetBEUI on both machines.

On the laptop, browse through network neighborhood to the host, find the printer, depending on the drivers, you can right click the printer and choose install, or install the drivers locally, point the path to the host with the network browse for the port.

Workgroups should be the same to make installing easier for you.

Thanks
Got it
I have to check printer sharing. I thought printer and file sharing were the same check box but they were seperate.

Thanks

I was also trying to share the DVD player from my laptop to my host computer .dont think this is possible. I mean I can see the files but not watch a movie.
I have DVD drivers on the host computer but when launching it goes right to the IDE drive on the host
