I f I have the same thing in my linksys router in " host name" (setup page) as I do in my main pc in "network places" /properties/identification/computer name ? can that be the same or should it be different? I have a non docsis @home connection here, and in @home I had to put a specific sequence of letters and numbers in the comp name to make it work, then I got the router and I had to put it in the host name there,it seems to work ok with the sequence or without it in the id tab of the pc,does that make sense?

It does not make a difference for me, in fact I usually make up something for that entry. I could be unknowingly making a serious error, so regard this as just informative.

i have @home also, and yes you must put the ID Information from your computer... which was given to u by @home... in the ID Information place in the router... in my experience, it simply wont work without it..

It is Ok that your router and one of your pc's have the same computer or host name. Yes you needed to have the cg-xxxxxx in as the host name on the router or else your Internet would not work
