Go to edit and edit out your IP address unless you want the kiddies to have fun:)
At bottom of your post it says EDIT:D :D :D
**** forgot about the ip... what do i do now? edit what it is already posted WAAH!!!
Knocky.. I may be wrong here but it sounds like you dont have a setting called Tcp1323opts=1 .. it is in the Registry and can be changed using Dr TCP to do it. Hope that helps mate..
heh ashdaw, need a new prog to edit it? hmm haven't slept for a while so plz inform me a bit more
Knocky if you know how to edit the registry ya dont need it at all..
It is just useful if ya is not comfortable with editing the registry..
AAAH! I dont know how to edit the registry. i downloaded the cablenuts thing and hoped it would work but obviously not... what if my connection cannot be tweaked at all?!?!?!?!
Go to the URL Knocky and get this programme ok??? and you running WIN98SE???
Dr TCP Tweak (http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP019.exe) Then I can tell ya which to fix..
SE? it is win 98 aight, ok the proggy is running now what? ( ah, now i see the beauty of chat )
heheh Ok Knocky these are the settings in Dr TCP you will see
Tcp Receive Windows = 513920
Windows Scaling = Yes
Time Stamping = No
Selective Acks = Yes
path MTU Discovery = Yes
Black Hole Detect = No
Max Duplicate Acks = 1
Thats my settings and then Ya HAVE to restart the Puter.. it might also be useful to use THIS Vtcp.386 (http://www.speedguide.net/files/vtcp386/vtcp386.zip) and update ya OS... Give it a try
ok ashdaw nothing happened...still my upload is as bad as ever.... ( 9kb/s for the moment )
can it be that my connection is untweakable?
mmmmmmmmmm no... I would suggest that you see if ya can find LOBO mate.... I have done as much as I know Knocky... Sorry I dont know more to be able to help ya.. LOBO is pretty good with this stuff and Evil Angel too.. :)
Knocky, wispering call your provider and say, HELP
:) :) :)
okay... this is kinda interesting... after all changes i did and mass rebooting my send speed was average stable 9kb/s... now i reinserted the old backup registsry and now it is average 13kb/s
...hmm if u can tweak down u can tweak up ;P
Too bad none of you guys use ICQ...this forum is kinda annoying;)
Well it's not nice to be like that nookie:) :)
LOOBO!!! NOW tell me what i can do! i won't think i've been up all night in vain!!!! waaah this is tragic....
Call your ISP and say, FIX-IT:) :)
hey man i don't think you realize how serious this is for me, i live in my own little world limited to 4x4 square metres so the connection is vital for me and you joke around!? HELP ME DAMNIT!
Are you in prison, 4 by 4 meters

Knocky, u need to CALM DOWN! This isn't that big of a deal. First off, BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY. Next, You said it wasn't u'r IP Address, are you running through a proxy server?
Go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings>and make sure EVERYTHING is unchecked.
If you are on @home and ran their software, you may need to do this...Click on the Start button on your Taskbar, click on Run, then type this: regsvr32 -u ahiehelp.dll
go here (http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml) and download the Default Settings patch for your OS. Since u'r on 98, also down the Vtcp.386 fix. Install both and reboot.
Now install the Cablenut Adjuster program and run on of the CCS files for u'r OS (Either Normal or Fast for 98). REBOOT. RETEST. REPOST.
he hey good morning! i did as you told me in detail and from average upload speed of 9-13, i now have average of 14kb/s... still VERY low. i used the ccs for fast cable windows 98. and yes my connection ran through a proxy.
Still those rumors of chello being untweakable... if it is al things i do will be in vain. ok here are the stats are there any changes from following stat-posts? you have my specs somewhere to:p

I don't know if the slight speed increase is becuase the time here ( 18:33 afternoon )
Pardon my interuption gentlemen, but it looks to me that Knocky needs the VTCP.386 update. I haven't followed the whole thread, so if this has already been done, I shutta my face!:)
i have that thing but dunno what i should use it for. new stats:

Look at the Kbps RcvWin thingy. it is halved from the other stat posts. but my upload is exactly the same. wtf am i doing wrong? i start to believe that chello is UNTWEaKABLE!!!!!!
Knocky, what kind of speeds does your provider supposedly provide you with? I ask because we have one company here in the States, that no matter what you do, it cannot be tweaked for better performance. There package is 512/128 ON CABLE mind you.
I haven't been following this thread, so I don't have the answer as to why your RWIN Value changed. The only thing I can think of is if your running a router or proxy server. Is the IP address being tested the IP displayed in WINIPCFG? You can find out by clicking start/go to run/ type in winipcfg. Make sure your ethernet adaptor is being displayed in the box that pops up, under adaptor address, you'll see IP Address.
I have a ton of things I have to get done, so I won't be around. If you can't get anyone to help you here, go here. (http://www.broadbandnuts.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) ;)
on www.chello.se:
" hastighet: chello - upp till 512/128 kbps. chello maestro - upp till 640/128 kbps "
Speed: chello - up to 512/128 kbps. chello maestro - up to 640/128 kbps
damn...so it IS untweakable?
Juggernaut

nothing is "untweakable"...I think you may be getting confused between tweaking and uncapping. A tweak optimizes your connection so that you can use everything that is available to you to its fullest...Uncapping means removing what you are capped at...Uncapping is not possible either...so don't ask how do you do it...The caps are controlled at their end, all you can do is tweak u'r connection to it's fullest to reach those caps.
Now you notice that all the packages you posted had an upload cap of 128kb/s (or 16KB/s). You are getting 14KB/s you mentioned so you are getting near your cap.
Now download the Vctp.386 patch and apply it to your computer. REBOOT.
Make sure that Tcp1323Opts=1 in the Cablenut Adjuster. REBOOT.
Now is the IP the TCP/IP Analyser is saying, is it yours? If it is not yours, you more than likely still have the proxy enabled.
You can add the tweaks, but I'm sorry my friend, I doubt that they will benefit you any. I went round and round with another gentlemen that lives on the crappy cable companies line and no matter what we did, it never changed his performance one bit!
I wouldn't take this as a final "NO". Try those guys at the link I left you in the last post. They are always working on tweaks (They make em) and they may be better able to tell you just wha you can and can't do with your connection. If it's 512/128 your only going to get about 64KB down and 16 up. Realistically, 54KB down and 13 to 14KB up.:(
how come when i begin to upload it starts at 30-40, 1 sec later, 25, 1 sec later 19, 1 sec later 18, 5 secs later it stays at 12-14...
why is that? buhuuu...

This is known as burst rate. It will start fast and fall to your capped or limited speeds!
Juggernaut, I don't mean to bale on you, but my butt is gonna be in big time trouble if I don't get this stuff done that I'm working on. If you can help Knocky, please do, if not, see if dannjr or cablenut can.
56 down? lol? a friend of mine have a great cable conenction. i download from him in 110-120 kb/s
Juggernaut

if you get those speeds than maybe you have a different download cap...but you'll actually find that the majority of cable users here are capped at 128kbps upload...like Blebs said, you'll probably only end up seeing 13 to 14 KB/s upload...maybe 15....it's what u'r capped at, you can't do anything about it except switching ISP's or getting a different package with a better upload speed. And as far as I know, tweaking doesn't really affect u'r upload speed anyways...tweaking generally just affects your download speeds.
switch isp? blurk money money money. easy when u live below existence minimum^^
Juggernaut

that's why no matter what you do, u'r upload speeds aren't changing.
