Hello. Im new to this Win2000 thing so please bear with me...

This is my question...

In Win98SE, I could go to START>>RUN and type "MSCONFIG" and edit items in my Start Up group. Same thing with ME. After geting sick and tired of having to reboot all the time, I finally went and purchased Win2000. After installing all of my software, I have stuff running in my system tray that I dont want there. Can anybody tell me how to disable items in the tray so that they dont start back up? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Go to Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services

You want to double click the service you want to disable then choose either Automatic, Manual or Disable. Manual means the service will be started by the OS only when it is need during that session.

BE VERY CAREFUL what services you disable. Do not disable anything you don't know what it is.

I read the xp version of msconfig works well in Win 2000.

Never tried it, just read about it. :)
