outlook express and msn messenger

i recently downloaded msn messenger cause some freinds are using it.

question is how can i get outlook express to not open messenger at all when i check me emails?

ive unchecked signon to msn messenger and unchecked allow to run in background.

Open Outlook Express, go to tools, options, on the general tab, uncheck "automatically log on to MSN Messenger Service" then click apply at the bottom and ok, then close Outlook express. Now the only way it would run is if you have it running from with in the MSN Messenger program itself. Hope this helps.:)

In other words, make the changes from within Outlook Express and not the Messenger program itself.

yeah i did that already but messenger still opens but just doesnt login
the icon has an x on it. it closes when i close outlook express.
no way to have it not launch messenger when i open outlook express?

Something sure isn't right! Have you tried to disable it in Outlook Express and in the Messenger program, then open OE and see if it still does it?

I'm thinking uninstall MSN messenger and then reinstall and see if that doesn't clear it up. It shouldn't be doing that at all.:confused:
