First: Just finished my new PC (built from scratch)
Second: It was working like a charm till today.
Third: I play two on-line games (AC and WW II online).

The problem started tonight. Whenever I start either of these games, something is severing my connection from my PC to my cable modem. I get right to where I should be spawning in the game, and my connection just drops. The modem is still communicating with the network, but my PC aint talking to my modem (complete drop: have to reboot to get back on the network).

I spent an hour on the phone with my cable provider, and they couldn't figure it out. They finally gave me the standard "reistall windows, and call us if it doesn't work" answer.

Any ideas what is going on? I can navigate throughout the web just fine (can even get into free basic games, like solitair or hearts), up to the point of spawn into the pay games.

*sidenote* I have a ghost divice in my device manager which I could not find drivers for, and honestly, I don't know what it is: "PCI System Management Bus". I disabled this when I first installed windows, and the system worked fine up to today. Is this device what is causing my prob's? Or maybe a bad net card? (I installed all the drivers provided with my mobo)

P-III Copermine 1 gig processor
ASUS CUSL-2 MoBo
256 mb Ram
Ge2 64 mb card
Soundblaster Live!
Win 98

HELP! before I drain another 2 hours from my life reinstalling windows for nothing
