I have 10Mbs Cablemodem and I have Downloaded MTUpatch and squide_tweak. My Download speed is quite good about 500kB/s, but What should I do, when I want minimum ping in net games (action quake2), no matter if download speed degreases?. Is there Gamers registery patch? Should I use MTU 576?

Tweaking will not fix ping, really. Its mostly a routing/ISP problem.

gamindg is UDP and here we tweak TCP so you cannot get much help on that you may want to try the gaming forum to attain help on gaming pings :)

If you drop your MTU to 576 then your connection will drop in half. Keep it @ 1500, it's optimized for broadband. 576 is for a dial-up connection.

All the above is so true, but,

While Ramdrives won't lower your ping or decrease your latency, the "gamers" I know that put the Tcp stack on a ramdrive, tell me that they have a great stabilizing effect. That is, ping and latency become much more consistent, without the variations normally seen.
Not reduced, mind you, just consistent.

Might be all you REALLY need to improve your fragging. ;)
