:confused:
Hey Lobo I'm running Win ME and this is what I got from the TCP/IP analyzer:
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1448, which is less than MSS because of Timestamps, or other TCP/IP options used.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 373360
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 46670
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 14934.4 kbps (1866.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 5973.76 kbps (746.72 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF
Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
Any Tweaking Suggestions? :confused:

that's kind of an odd RWIN :)
hey lance! I think that's the cyberwizardpit tweak that he has applied.
Ground Zero, I'm pretty sure Lobo will back me up on this one but I feel that you should give the cablenut program a serious look. All you have to do is uninstall that cyberwizardpit tweak and then d/l the cablenut proggie. If you click on the green link in my sig, it will take you to Lobo's help page. Read all of it first and then d/l the cablenut proggie version 4.02. Get that up and running based on the help page and retake the analyzer test so that Lobo can take a look at it.
It is a very simple process if you read and listen. Lobo will have you rockin and a rollin in no time. WinME is quite tweak friendly.
So do that first please and come back.

I didn't install cyberwizard, I got the RWIN values ect off of a website. I used to have Lobo's proggie and for some reason these values were a little bit better (if not the same) then with his prog. But if i _need_ his program, I'll get it. I currently have the SpeedCorp 9x Enhancer which alows me to change the values, much like Lobo's prog. I'm all ears, point the newbie in the right direction :D

Lobo has a proggie? BTW, the @home patch also makes your RWIN that same exact number... I don't know why, it's not a multiple of MSS.. BTW, it's CableNut's Adjuster... :D Not Lobo's :)

Doh, my bad. I meant that because it was on his site..Sorry, yeah I used the @home patch and some other values off of some website, and it lowered my pings for Counter-Strike..I recently switched from a USB modem to Ethernet, just wondering if my settings are optimal :)
Another question: Would turning off timestamps help at all? (If so how would I turn them off)?
No it's Cablenut's program, but I highly recommend getting it, when you install it it will uninstall the other and if you give us your system specs we can try and come up with RWIN for you :) :) :)

System Specs:
Win ME
Celeron-700
384 Megs RAM (No Joke)
And All the other good stuff...
I installed cablenut's prog and took the tcp/ip analyzer again.
(Super slow with the default @home settings =( )
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 8760
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 8760
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 350.4 kbps (43.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 140.16 kbps (17.52 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 115 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Any Speedcorp tweak or Cyberwizard tweaks use 373360, as Shaw technician Gordon Campbell found these settings to work best.
Try these RWIN's (Default Rvc Window)
1 at a time in box on adjuster inside 4.2 on desktop. GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize-BLANK
Save to registry at bottom and reboot each time you change value in adjuster
Check analyzer here at Speedguide to be sure you have RWIN in, thank you
Try: 64240, 513920, 522680, or 524176 :) :)

522680 RWin looks pretty good:
TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 522680
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65335
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20907.2 kbps (2613.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8362.88 kbps (1045.36 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 35 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
:) :)
Yes it does look good, hope it works for you, be sure to see Tips section on 2nd page of help page below in sig:) :) :)
unless something has changed, when you install cablenut - it is going to automatically uninstall any other tweaks you have already installed.
