Ramdrive Question

can you put swap file &/or internet explorer on ramdrive ? would it increase performance ? if so, can someone tell me how to do it. i got a big ole ramdrive created and want to put some stuff on it that will speed up internet. i currently have tcp/ip & temp files on it.

First of all, putting your swapfile on a ramdisk is pretty much nonsense. The swapfile acts as ram extension when you run out of RAM, it put's parts of the data stored in the ram to the disk. So instead of going in circles you might as well go with a smaller ramdrive.

To choose the location of your temp. internet files, in IE go to Tools-->Options. In the section for temp. internet files click on settings, then there should be a button that lets you change the directory. Choose a folder on the ramdrive. The menu commands etc. might be a bit of because I have the German version of IE and needed to translate them, but you should be able to get to the setting :)
