Hi, I did the test under yugo's name

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2621.4 kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1048.56 kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 16 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

I applied the @home patch and my speed increased from 400 kbps to 700 kbps. Is there any thing else I can do?

My System:
550 Mhz Athlon
256mb SDRAM, soon to be 384 this Friday
Windows 98

Thanks.

first go here http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml
get the patches for your os

You need the windows socket 2 patch

Do you have the adjuster? go here to download version 4.2 http://www.broadbandnuts.com/cablenut/software.htm

OK I couldn't apply the socket 2 patch, but I did apply the MS Vtcp.386 fix for Windows 98 patch.

I will download the adjuster now.

oops forgot to ask your os, oh well just download cablenut and put the rwins lobo posted:sleep:

Ok I have the program. Where are these RWINS Lobo posted?

Also I tested again.

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 350.4 kbps (43.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 140.16 kbps (17.52 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 112 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Start - Run - REGEDIT - OK - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - System - CurrentControlSet - Services - VxD - [MSTCP].

Click the MSTCP folder to expand its entries in the right pane. Click Edit, New - StringValue, name it "Tcp1323Opts", press Enter, right-click it, click Modify, type in a value of "1". Close the Registry and reboot.

The next time you run the SpeedGuide TCP/IP Analyzer, your actual RWin value will appear instead of the default value of 65535.

Speedguides patch is not installed, please go to where you unzipped it to, RIGHT click on it, up to install or merge and click and REBOOT, retest, repost :) :) :)
