I just upped from 256MB to 512MB. Should I look into higher RWIN settings? I am currently using RWIN =513920. System specs in signature.
*I would have run the analyzer, but at work :cry: *
Do you use cablenuts adjuster:) :)

Yes sir....
Installed CableNuts adjuster, added SG_tweak patch 2k, added SG_web patch, then adjusted RWIN settings.
I got the hang of this part after jacking with PC so much I had to reinstall my PC 3 times the other day. I have to learn to work with that mysterious registry one day :D
Try these RWIN's (Default Rvc Window)
1 at a time in box on adjuster inside 4.2 on desktop. GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize-BLANK
Save to registry at bottom and reboot each time you change value in adjuster
Check analyzer here at Speedguide to be sure you have RWIN in, thank you
Try: 522680, 524176 and 530710 The last 2 are not multiples but I never put much stock in that anyway, I try to use multiple's first and them whatever is fast, hope this works :) :) :) :)

Thanks I'll try them out tonight.
Lately I have been getting somewhere between 28.8 and 56k on a few of the bandwith testers :)
I used to get near the 1mb mark..
You may have overtweaked or not set up NIC card right:) :)

Speaking of NIC Card...
I have a PCI 3Com 3905C-TX-M 10/100 card at home. Should I replace my Linksys 10mb ISA card with the 3Com, or is it even worth the bother?

First of all, your connection is 512kbps downstream?
Alright, that RWIN is WAYYY too high. Try 64240.

Nah.. I have a 1mbps downstream. Never really get over 800-900kbps on any bandwith test, but thats pretty damn fast to me. Just that lately (past few days) I've had a it of lag and low bandwith test. Now don't get me wrong, every now and then things perform great :D , but not at the 800-900 level.. More like 400 or so.
I used to be 3Com man to until someone sent me Linksys, it was faster on mine so I left it in, mine is a PCI card so yours might be older, try both and whichever one you like best:) :) :)

Try that rwin. My downstream is around 5mbps, so 64240 works awesome for me.
Whats your MTU set at?
The 512MB in your sig is RAM, right:) :) :)

Of course.
I actually use over 256MB sometimes. Rarely, but sometimes..
Next two purchases are a dual board (torn between Giga-byte and Tyan) and another 733 cpu. That should give me all the power I need for a long time.

MTU = 1500
MSS = 1460
The standard stuff. Max connections per server at 64 (I believe at work right now).
Timestamps off..
I'll try all the RWINS you two listed tonight and see what happens.
