a proxy server problem

hi people

i have a question on you about proxy.
i am on dialup using w98se and i tried to connect over a proxy server. I would like to know how to check if i am really using proxy or not.
I tried to traceroute a web address and there was no proxy. It was the same as without a proxy. I also checked my outgoing email and i only found my own ip address and not the one of the proxyserver which i think should be there.

Try going to http://members.aol.com/starfirert/ira/privacy/analysis.htm or a place like it that will try to tell you information about you. If the information is correct then you aren't proxied, if it is info about the proxy that you are going through then you are OK.
