Sygate Firewall=Roumors Its Spware~!Decide for yourself

Recently i posted a reply to a thread and suggested the member install the sygate personal firewall.Fredra told me to look at a post whitch was posted around a week ago concerning sygate supposably containing spyware. fredra my friend just because something is put on the net doent neccaseraly mean its true right
i mean freewarepose had no evidance to back up there theary whatsoever
and if sygate is spyware whitch i very mutch doubt
why isnt ad-aware5.5 picking anything up?

If anybody can show me and the people in the forum who use sygate personal firewall some hard evidence that sygate is spyware i would be switching to another firewall faster then id jump in bed with pemmalla lee~!:rolleyes:
i couldnt behlieve the response on that post fredra...people downed sygate without having any hard evidance i mean i run a web sight myself
i could post that zoneallarm is spyware and put it up...doesnt mean its true
i have an aspect called faith and thats whats makin me stick to sygate...besides i behlieve its 110% more reliable then zonealarm and picks up port scans whitch zone allarm doesnt and allso has an option of backtrace.
all you sygate users out there lets see what the respected members of speedguide have to say~!

Just for the information, not all versions contained the spyware, it was only their last or latest version that did. Sygate recommended either going back to an older version or holding off on an install until the problem could be corrected.:p

"Belief kills and belief cures"....it all depends on who and what you belive in. The real rationale is based on blebs statement....and if you read the thread in it's entirety, you will notice that it does explain about the suspected versions and Sygate response.
I was NOT telling you to dump Sygate, just bringing information to your attention for you to peruse and form your own opinion.

dont forget that tiny doesnt stop the latest version of back orifice..it was released a month ago and from what i hear its spreading arpund like flys~!
I beg to differ...if Tiny is setup properly it DOES block it.

and blebs what evidence do you have to come out the statement
not all versions contained spyware ony there last one did...word of mouth...?

Go to User CP button on top of page. Select Edit Options and scroll to the bottom. Click on Change Avatar, and the select a Avatar. You need 100 posts to use a custom one.

WizKid , The newest version of sygate has spyware in it. I use for a while. I was informaned by sysgate that it does. Go to www.freewareposse.com. This is about the newest version just released. No adware will not pick it up. So if I was you I would either go back to last years version which is just as good. The only differance in the new one is they made it more compact and add spyware. For what ever reason they added the spyware I have know Ideal. Or switch to tiny personal Firewall or zonealarm. If you continue to use the new version of sygate they will know every thing you are doing witch is your choice. I have last years if you still want to use sygate. Another update your version of adware if haven't already. The new version is ADWARE 5 . GoodLuck! This is choice to make. But I don't want anyone noing what I am doing. GoodLuck!;)

if sygate told you in an e-mail or however they told you that there new version of the firewall had spyware i behlieve you~!...
and i wouldnmt be supprised if there previous versions had spware installed on them aswell.I cant behlieve that this spyware**** is going on , even within sygate firewall...i mean youd think that a firewall would be tha last piece of software to have spyware installed on it hey.

PC_Crew , ThaMainMan , DigitalNightmare , HaCkErAllerT , and all of yall , you know who you are i suggest you do what im doing and get the damn so called Sygate Personal Firewall off ya pc and i think im going to go with tiny personal firewall myself.

i dont have mutch knowledge on rule,setting but ill give it my best shot

Wizkid, The older version of sygate dose not have spyware. It was installed only in the newer version. I am useing the older version as of right now. But I am planning on buying a different one here in the future after I do some compareing. The newest version of sygate that spyware. From what I understand was programed in it by accident. But all in all I am not going to use it. It has a few more bugs I notice to It is not happy with IE6 at all. plus it seems to work when it feels like it. I left it on my older computer for a while to check it out. Mainly because I do not use that computer. I found out about the spyware when I emailed them about the other proublems I was haveing on my other computer.I had never used it on main computer. I usely check out new software on my old computer before I use it on the main one I use.;)
