ZA and general comments

I just came across this forum by coincidence after reading the grc zombie article. I thank grc for turning me on to ZA. I installed it when I first found it on his site and haven't looked back. It does exactly what it's supposed to and for that I am thankful. I found grc a long time ago and his research into internet security is invaluable.

Being knew to the whlle internet zombie, hack use your comp for crime thing, I would like to know more about it. I have been reading several posts and you guys seem really helpfull. I hope that when the need arises I can draw on your knowledge and expertise.

I had the thought that if ZA is free, isn't there someone out there that can disect it and find or create a weak spot? I mean will someone eventually get past ZA regardless of the obvious fact that it works very well. Will ZA keep on top of this possible security problem? Any opinions on this would be much appreciated.

Im sure if someone wanted to get past ZA they probrably would, it is there so that you dont make an easy target to get into. An experience would waste his time trying to get into a home users PC because it wouldnt do him anygood. But if someone wanted to im sure they could get past it.

I have had zone alarm on my system before and found that it did not cut it for me...it was unreliable and there are to many cracks For the PRO Version out ther.1 thing i didnt like that it would rarely pick up port scans.me and a mate of mine hooked up and i told him to port scan me on his pc so he did and 9 times outa 10 zone alarm didnt pick it up...Now
Port scanning is the 1st thing a hacker would do..scan your ports to see if any is open

i have now switched to sygate i find it 100% more reliable and there is an option of backtrace there.
