I don't know if this is a good speed or not, if any netguru could place me in their protoge program, maybe i could get this cable going faster :)

I hope this helps some :)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 385440
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 48180
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 15417.6 kbps (1927.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 6167.04 kbps (770.88 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 84 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Are these settings ok? I cannot for the life of me exceed 1300 kbps (160KB/s or so) :(

Some system info if u think u can help:

P3 450 @ 558 MHz
256 SDRam
COM21 2000 thru @Home USB adapter
Win 98

Btw, Lance, thnx 4 all the help. Mebbe lobo or buggy could help me from here on :)

Change or try RWIN's of 405880, 417560, 438000, 449680, 470120 or 481800:) :)

The higher Rwins aren't helping much, but I did just discover the bottleneck :) I'm sure its what the uber-gurus knew all along, as now my measly connect refuses to dip below 1Mbps on internet speed tests during even the highest traffic hours :). Previously it would range from 300 kbps to 1200. It (the tweak) seems its somewhat secretive because when I posted questions about it before ,no-one answered, except to say "Get an actual ethernet card." :D
