Would running two firewalls on my PC cause any conflict? I already have Zone Alarm (the free one) and I plan to also use Black ICE. Would this be a problem? Help. I want to have the hightest level of security possible on my PC.

If you run ZA alone, you should be fine. Personally, I do not like Black Ice, it seems to let alot of things go that it shouldn't.
As far as conflicts, it's a hard call. You may or may not have any, trial and error will let you know, I'm sure.;)

Black Ice is AOL of firewalls. As far as running two though. Running BA and zone I have heard about various conflicts. I have just had zone and tiny both on the same system, ran like that for about a day or so. Now I just have tiny, going to give it a trial run. They seemed to coexist though ok, just had to authorize alot of stuff though.

1. Why would you want to run 2 firewalls?? Someone trying to hack you? Or do you have sensitive data on your computer that you dont want anyone getting ahold of?? If you only have solitare and a few other proggies, I would worrie about it too much.

2. If you are holding sensitive data, either for a business or family or what ever. Then you should invest in a hardware firewall. Software is not gonna cut it. Because if they can get through zonealarm, then probably means they are good, and a zone/blackice combo isnt really going to deter them much. I think all the really good guys though either concentrate on bigger fish, or people who piss them off. Not the little fish like us, we just gotta worrie about sub7's and virus's and the like.

Thank you fellows for your replies.

I do a lot of realestate investing and so forth and I keep all my financial records in Quicken and client data. People sometime send me sensitive data in email. I want to make absolutely sure that no one breaks into my computer and gets control of all this information. That's why I'm so paranoid about my PCs security.

I know there's a one in a milion chance that a hacker will target me specifically. Carrying such sensitive info however I don't want to take too many chances.

I'm also in the process of setting up a business website, where I'll be collecting credit cards and so forth.

I would really appreciate a list of some of the good hardware firewalls there are available out there. Thanx.
