Hi Philip, I'm sorry but I must complain about the decision to disallow SIGs, I find it hard to believe that this

If it is neccesary to ban Sigs then the real culprits, the images in threads should be shut down as they are the real problem,
Part of the enjoyment from coming to this site is my facination with the electronic arts, and many of the members here do do some nice art and it is as much a joy to view as the site is informational.
If the sig rule is to be set in stone would it be possible to allow avatars that are a little larger than what is now currently availabe. I realize that with the avatars you remain in control of the maximum sig size but the present 50 x 50 is pretty small, would 150 x 50 be too much to ask for in av size if the Sig ban is to remain in place?

Thos "Babe Threads" are self explanitory

You already know that when you click on the Thread it's going to have lots of big pictures in it

However with Sigs you do not know that by clicking on that thread you are going to have to wait or wade through lots of annoying sig pictures that get in the way

there is a difference of expectation

the sigs add up by being in every single post the user makes

At least graphic arts have something to do with computers, I see more photoshop questions posted on the boards than i see " how do I ask Britney out on a date" questions The babe threads as nears as i can tell have absolutly nothing in any way, shape or form to do with computers. If anything i'm more offended by the sexist nature or those images, clothed or not.
But I do believe my original question still stands, if the imags are going to be shut down then why are images still allowed in the threads? I do find it curiouse that the day this thread with these obsenely large images is posted that sigs get shut down.
And not every BABE thread as you call it is announced as such.
And to condone the blatent sexism displayed by these threads is rather low. I have children and a wife and an elderly mother that walk past as i'm reading the boards, that I take much more offence to the so called BABE threads than sigs.

There is no need to talk down to me as if i am a 6 year old, I'm a 40 year old man with children as old as you.

No need to apologize John, Philip dealt with it in a very expidited manner, a little give on the Av's and I'm happy. And I was quick to acknowledge that here and on the boards.
And I do know of the Sig that was the most recent puter killer, it was not my intention, and i dont think it was anyone at Speedguides intention when I was asked if some folding sigs I and a couple of other people had made could be posted for others to use as Sigs for the Folding team. Little did we know someone would take them all into PSP and tie them all together into one. That animated sucker brought my 866 PIII with 256 megs ram on DSL to it's knees, Ouch !!!
I saw the problem coming and in the last week had submitted a couple of really trimmed down ones to Philip for the Folding team, One he used and the other he used the Idea for another less bandwidth hungry Sig.

Now when I open a thread and have to scoll sideways for 3/4 of the picture at 1024 rez, imagine the poor sucker at 800 X 600 or even worse 640 X 480

i think you guys did a great thing with the sigs. don't get me wrong, i like them too, just as much as the others, but some people were abusing it like you said. i seen one sig that had "5" pics in the same sig! now that is going overboard. good job guys! :)

I don't have a problem with it... It's their site... they make the rules and I follow them. :)
