TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 32767
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 32767
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1310.68 kbps (163.835 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 524.272 kbps (65.534 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 107 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

running windows 2000 pro.
amd athlon 500mhz
256megs of ram

i have installed the 2k patch.

i see that my scale factor is zero. there isn't a Tcp13230pts line in my registry. Should the patch have added that or do i have to do that manually?

Help please???

I would think it would be there, go to main page this site see registry tweaks on left, click to find where to look :)

That is why I followed and looked. I even searched for it with the search command. No luck. Can I add the line manually? I don't see defaultTTL, enablePMTUDiscovery either.

You're the man Lobo. I know you can help me.

The patches put it in so I quess you can :) :) :)
Sorry It took so long but I had to look:
Some of the values are not present in the Registry by default, you'd either have to add them manually, using Regedit, or you'd have to use some of the generic Registry patches. Refer to the Cable Modems Patches and Registry Tweaks for more :) :)

It depends on the wrin size. AS low as yours is you will have 0. Try adding a larger one .Such as 256960 .Then reboot and run the test again. It will give you a number. Right now your wrin is running even with the Unscaled recieve window. If you use 256964 you will usally get a scale of 4 Like posted next to it. I get only two with this wrin because a run my defaultTTL at 64. Plus I have a few more tweaks in my reg that bring the scaleing down. I will Post mine at that wrin to show you what I mean. ;)

Did you install patch right, downloading and unzipping does not install, go to where you unzipped it too, RIGHT click on it up to install or merge, click and reboot :)

And then set RWIN to 481800, I used to have 500 with 256 Megs of RAM and thats the number I used :)

Lobo did you get the page on tweaks I just sent you. Now how easier can I explain it to him. You know who! Let me know! Is he useing any kind of software for his internet provider. Plus who Is it. I ask but never got a reply. Plus what is his Os He never Told me that either. Sounds like he has the proxy on. Sense the wrin won't change! ;)

I loaded cablenut's program and it installed the lines into the registry. Lobo, there are three places that seem to show receive values. Do I change all three to the rwin you suggested or is there just one that I change?? Global,TCPwinsize, and DefaultReceivewindow. Thanks again for the help. This is what I have right now.
