I have a cable SB4100 modem and silver package so i should get 1 meg/256 kbits but I get more around 786 kbits/128 kbits. I loaded the sguide me patch and it seemed to optimize but still only get around 700-800 download. Can anyone help. Here is my Analyzer....

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Thanks for any advice

Try some of the other wrin settings listed. In the anylizer and see if they improve your speed alittle more. Just exsperment a little to you find the right one that works the best for you. GoodLuck! You may never hit the acutal cap. But may come real close to it. This has to do with Times of the days and the fact other people are useing the same service. :)

You can try and raise RWIN to 513920, 522680 or 524176 :) Reboot after applying a number

How do you change the Rwin. I'm relatively new at the tweaking

go to start menu then to run, then type in regedit, then go to HKEY_local_machine, then to system, then to vxd, then to mstcp, default RCV window is the same thing as RWIN, so thats where you change your rwin numbers
