Hello. I read the tweaks on speedguide here and decided to try and re-enter them manually. Well, I went back to using Cablenut and I've got a question. Why does Cablenut add all the #000n folders under NetTrans Folder in the registry when I only have 1 device that is bound to TCP/IP? That would be my Ethernet card of course! Also, it added MaxMtu=1500 and MaxMSS=1460 to each of those folders. My 0001 folder is the folder where it shows the "DriverDesc" value pointing to TCP/IP. Is this something that could slow my transfer rates down? I just took the analyzer test, and here are my results. Thanks for any help; it is ALWAYS very much appreciated :)
SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer
TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 53 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
129309 connections tested since 03.10.2001.
Analyzer version: Beta 0.94
P.S.- I had my RWIN value up to 385440, but it seems like I was experiencing some packet loss. Is there another value I can try between 256960 and 385440 that might work better? Also, the Globalwindowssize HAS to be the same as the DefaultRcvWindow, right? Again, thanks for any help or advice. I like to tweak my system :)
