hey lobo how do you calculate the speed of someones CPU and know which rwin numbers they can use? i've been very curious on how you've been doing it? for example i have a 600MHz CPU, tell me how you figured out which rwin numbers that i can use?

It's really not that hard, larger CPU's can handle more data, faster downloads, to big of a RWIN leads to packet loss plus slows people down, I see it all the time on these test results, people put in the largest number they can find, well instead of reading up on the subject they just guess, and most of the time its wrong. I understand all connections are different nobody's is the same, but I see tests that look like they came from Mars. Your computer is only as fast as your CPU, so it does not matter what kind of cable modem you have if your computer can not keep up with it, Dannjr and Cablenut know alot more about this than I.
As for your question, you have pretty decent size CPU so a larger RWIN, it's really trial and error, people who make speed patches have to appeal to the masses, that is probably why you see some RWIN's that are low, so they will work for people with smaller CPU's, makes alot of sense, so in tweaking you try and get the most out of what you have, but some of the test results I see I don't call tweaking, I call it people who have no idea what they are doing changing everything under the sun for no reason, these patches are made by smart people who know there stuff, and only a few things need to be changed if anything at all.
Thats what we are here for, to try and help people, all they have to do is ask and it's all free, neato. So all the people who read this and that will speed up your internet access for $$$ are just pawns, we know about these programs, and they do nothing more than we do, probably less. :) :) :)
