Here are my statistics.

TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 123496
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 61748
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4939.84 kbps (617.48 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1975.936 kbps (246.992 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 50 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Cablenut put in the RWIN

cable connection

1.3GHz

Who put that RWIN in, is this a cable connection, how many Mhz is your CPU, do you have speed patch installed :)

A speed patch is just that, makes you go faster, Cablenut has a speedpatch at his site, I don't understand why you have such a small RWIN with all that horsepower, do you want a patch as I was going to send you to get Cablenut's as you have to have default registry for ours, I can give you directions to get his if you like :)

OK Do backup after you install Cablenuts patches, you DO NOT need any vtcp386 patches,
do this:
First bring up REGEDIT, type REGEDIT in your run box and hit OK.
Under Registry at the top of the box, click on that, now click on Export Registry File, a box will come up asking where you want to export it to, just put it in your C drive, then name it at the bottem of box, Registry.
Click on save. At bottom click all.
Now if you ever get in trouble or want the old regestry back, bring REGEDIT back up and click on Registry and click on import registry file, go to your C drive and click on registry and click open, reboot and your good to go.
Anytime you add a new program, backup again, any program, back it up to the same place as the last one, it will overwrite it. If you do not backup after each new program is instaled you will not have those setting's in regestry if you have to backup for some reason.
You really need to do this 2 times, 1-default registry to leave alone and 2 - the updated registry that you update after adding new programs. It's small won't take up much space, could save you from long night.

Do nothing else in this box as it is the heart of your computer, just what it says above and no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to www,Cablenut.com, click on software at top of page :Download 4.0 and 4xx to 4.02. 4xx to 4.02 updates 4.0. Cablenuts patch will uninstall prior patches before applying his.
(vtcp386 patch is only for users of 98 and SE).This is located on right hand side of page.
(NOTE Win 95 users need vtcp386 and Winsock for Win 95) these are located on right hand side of page. Install 4.0 then install 4xx to 4.02 .
On desktop will be a Cablenut 4.0 folder, click on this folder, select ccs, then select
Cable fast settings 9x for you

This will bring up adjuster, blank boxes just mean default values are being used, for you I want you too on Cablenuts adjuster leave the box that says Globalmaxwindosize BLANK. Go to box that says DefaultRvcWindow and take out 204400 and put in 524176. click on save to registry at bottom and REBOOT for it to work, Please check back for updates or reading. Before coming back, do this please: take our TCP/IP Analyzer test at top of Tweak Forum page so I can be sure patch is in.

At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speedguide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Thank you.
If you installed the Web patch (Faster loading of web pages) you have to install it again as Cablenuts patch uninstalled it prior to installing his, all you have to do is go where you unzipped it to and click on it and reboot. Those who do not have patch go to main page this site, patch page go down until you see the one for your OS and download and install. Thank you
(NOTE: If you change RWIN size number you must change GlobalmaxWindosize to the same number)
Also you have to experiment to see which settings work best for you, normal or fast cable settings, I have seen people with 400 CPU get better speed with fast settings. If it does not work for you, go back to normal cable settings.
(NOTE) inside Cablenut 4.0 folder on desktop it says adjuster if you click on 4.0 on desktop. RIGHT click on adjuster and select shortcut to desktop, same with reboot.

Check back often for updates

Go to patch page this site and download and install faster loading of web pages patch for your OS.
If you did it before then applied Cablenuts speed patch you need to reinstall as his patch uninstalled it.
You still have it downloaded just go to were you unzipped it to and click on it and reboot.
All others follow directions for installation

How do do speed test
1. The best time is early in the morning (3 AM - 6 AM)
2. Make sure defrag has been run so no files are fragmented
3. Delete Temp internet files, not while testing, but after each test. IE browser, click tools, internet options, click on delete files and no this will not harm system, just get rid of temp files
4. Go to a fast server such as www.happypuppy.com (http://www.happypuppy.com) and click on 10 demos, select a LARGE file to download (not all of it , just most of it, before you click cancel) this will show you how fast you are downloading, it's not going to be quick except except early in morning when not many people on net. I recommend you go to www.analogX.com (http://www.analogX.com) and download Net State live, run this while downloading as it will give you avg of your download speed, really all you need on Net Stat is incoming data, incoming totals and Local machine, right click on Net Stat anywhere, stactics and check these 3 items, the rest need not be checked unless you want them, all you care about is average.
Put system defrag in scheduled tasks to run everyday.
5. Probably the most important, nothing can be running during test, no firewalls, no virus stuff, no ICQ, no AIM (some of you may have to go into BIOS to disable virus scanner, nothing running except Net Stat live
Scheduled tasks will run disk defrag, 98 & SE in Taskbar, WIN ME in control panel
The people who want speed surfing or doing whatever must close all other programs.
(NOTE: at present time www.AOL.com (http://www.AOL.com) seems to be fastest download site, at bottom download aol 6.0)
Or if you wish you may go to www.testmyspeed.com (http://www.testmyspeed.com) and do one of the online tests, these vary to much for me but you may like them.

ok this is wierd......

from one site i got

Your line speed:
2702 Kbps
331.1 K bytes/sec

That seemed fast so I retested and I got

Your line speed:
163200 Kbps
20000 K bytes/sec

Now, I don't know much on this topic, but that is a drastic increase!!!!
