I am not sure it was my IP address. I have a PII 300 with 128 ram running windows 98. Do you need more info?

Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.
TCP options string = 020405b4
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 49152
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 49152
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1966.08 kbps (245.76 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 786.432 kbps (98.304 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF
Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = OFF
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Whose patch does this belong to :)
I downloaded the patch from this site and installed it a couple days ago.

You might have downloaded it but it is not installed, go to where you unzipped it to, RIGHT click on it, up to install or merge, click, reboot, retest, repost :)

Irata
Did you download and install Vtcp386 Fix for WIN 98? :)
At very top it does not show it, check again please :)
No, I mean it doesn't display the address my computer says is right.
And no, I didn't install that patch. I will if need be. I must be going now, work calls.
Please let me know if I need to install that patch.
Thanks for your help, I will update this info as soon as I get home from work.
Irata
Yes you need that patch, Tcp386 Fix for WIN 98 on patch page, and look at FAQ under IP in analyzer for address problems :)
Hello,
Finally got back to this, I installed the patch and here are the new results.

ok, I am on @home cable service...does this help. I have downloaded and installed both patches. I seem to be moving at a good speed.

Do this please:How to remove @home proxy server
Posted by Cablenut:
Proxy servers are generally SLOWER for your web browsing. This is because it caches everthing to a remote server that is overloaded and just adds more hops in your path. They are intended to let the cable company watch where you go!
To disable proxy server of @homes, go to start, run,
type: regsvr32 -u ahiehelp.dll (Space between 2 and -) This will disable proxy for good. Go to Control Panel, internet options, connection tab at top, LAN settings at bottom, click. Uncheck Automatic Detection and uncheck use proxy server, your done.
Nothing should be checked, reboot.
Retest and post results please :)
somebody told me that getting off the proxy server increases security issues, that when you are on it you are behind the @home firewall. Any truth to that?

Run your own free firewall -- www.zonelabs.com. (http://www.zonelabs.com.) You do not need to be behind a proxy. If the Analyzer is not displaying your address, then the results you are seeing belong to the proxy and not your computer.
And also you may be on a service that IP changes each time you plug in modem :)
Maybe this will help:
What is a static IP address?
A
A static IP address is one that is always the same every time you connect to the Internet.
What is a dynamic IP address?
A
If you have a dynamic IP address, you will be assigned a different IP address every time you connect to the Internet.
:) :) :)
Ok, the IP that is displayed is always the same but it is not the one listed on my system when I check.
Is it against TOS with @home to not be behind thier proxy?
Irata
No you do not have to use their proxy do this:
