:eek: I've finally reached a point where I'm unsure what the next step could be to getting better results. Maybe this is it? Have I reached my MAOP? (maximum allowable outlet pressure, [hehe.....I'm in a gas utility by trade]). I'm running Windows ME w/ 1GHz CPU, 256 RDRamm, Earthlink ISP, Linksys Router, 3Com Ethernet 10/100 PCI. By the way I'm PPPoE enabled with the Linksys BEFSR41 V.2 router. All productive input is greatly appreciated. Lobo? Dannjr? Donald_K? These are the analyzers results:

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer
TCP properties for IP = ??
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405ac0103030201010402

MTU = 1492
MTU seems to be optimized for PPPoE... If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1452, which is equal to MSS.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE. If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 121 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

84303 connections tested since 03-10-2001, 14:30 ET
Analyzer version: Beta 0.94

Do you have PPPoE patch installed as you have a regular RWIN, if you ran wrong patch, run back to default, then PPPoE patch :)

If you have a question for Dannjr he works with Cablenut here (http://www.networkranch.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?&category=1) :)

With that hoss you got I would try RWIN of 511104 :)
