Hi Guy's just me again looking for some further help if possible

re the folding prog. is there any utlity out there that allows you to couch several programs at a time

so that callups are not as frequent as i wish to run 24/7 on 56k .

also is there some way it will dialup itself, so it can send/ recieve on it's own. i have not found any like on the Seti Prog.

your suggestions appreciated & no i cannot do that one. hahaha

regards minir

Idle Sensivity ??? HUH!

mines set at halfway, what does it account for. is it speed of processing per chance.

what would be your suggestion on this one.

I would just leave it alone for now.
Get to know the program alittle (see how long it takes to do the differnt proteins on YOUR System.
BetaHairpins (don't see many anymore) about 15mins or less on a 1gig system Villians about 1.5 to 2hrs on a 400Mhz system. About an hour on a 1gig system. There a few more. But you get the idea. This way you can tell how long it's gona take on your system to do different proteins. :)

Folding@home faq. it seems to work with the console version (modem) (http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/Cosm/faq.html#net.modem)

The Idle Sensitivity slider specifies how long Windows allows the program to remain idle (waiting for input) before reducing the CPU resources allotted to the program and enabling other programs to use them. Low idle sensitivity lets the program run longer before Windows reduces the CPU resources allotted to the program. High idle sensitivity reduces the CPU resources allotted to the program sooner.

Doesn't make any difference on my 'puter as I stick to things like browsing message boards.
I got a two year old 400mhz AMD K6, each frame takes 4 minutes, 6 hours per WU.

Hi Charlie

yep got it working many thanks

also i gave it my firewall code and permission to access the dialup and then authorized my dialup

to accept auto dial. sso now it does it's own up and downloading as needed. so 24/7 is ok now.

Hi quiet sound nice to meet you
