Hello,
I have this problem where my link light on my 4 port hub keeps flashing on and off. I've tried different cable, didn't help. The light doesn't blink fast, just on and off every couple of mintues. This all started when I pulled one of the two nics out of my NT 4 server box. Before I had this machine doing NAT, then I moved the one card to another machine. Now I just have one PCI Allied Telesyn AT-2500TX card in the NT server. I've even tried reinstalling NT 4 from a clean hard drive. I've tried changing IRQ's, and I even ran the cards diagnostics. Everything checks out in the diag. This is rather frustrating because when I'm transfering a files to or from the NT box it is rather slow because it keeps losing it's link. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this. If you need me to clarify anything, just let me know. I have a real nasty cold & this post may be confusing. Thanks again.

i don't know about your hub....but my hub LED's always blink when data is being sent though the network....unless your hub has a separate LED for connnection and data....

Its sounds like maybe the hub may be going bad. You could try if possible moveing the rj45 line to the computer that looses its link to another port on the hub and see if thet helps. Could be that port is going bad. Or as was suggested buy a switch. Hope this helps

I would like to thank all of you for your input. I think i've got it fixed. I just switched PCI slots, and now it is working ok. I am considering buying a Netgear 8 port switch. What would you guys recommend for a switch? Again I thank you for the help.
