Linksys problem

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop and a linksys fast ethernet 10/100 card. My problem my Laptop (with card inserted) shuts off before loading windows. The laptop boots fine with the card pulled out. Once Windows has loaded I can then put the card in and all works fine. Anyone know what gives????

could be a conflicting IRQ problem

Try that card in the bottom slot if there is one. Make sure the card has been tested for
1. The operating system
2. That computer.
If it causes no boot
1. may not be all the way in there
2. may have a hardware conflict. You can check by making sure you have available IRQ in windows.
