linksys befsr41 and pacbell dsl help plz!

hi guyz, I have the linksys 4port router and pacbell dsl. Its been working fine with my network using DHCP and have no complaints there... my problem is that i want host an ftp site.. I set it up and it actually worked for like a day and then quit. I don't know why. I guess my question is... are there any of you out there that have the linksys and pacbell dsl that host an ftp? i could really use some help...

Before you hooked up befrs41 did you use Enternet 300 and is your DSL direct, (no Modem). That is how mine is, I think it's called PPPoE. And I'm trying to get it to work with 2 NIC's & W98SE ICS or I've thought of getting BEFRS41. But the review says it might not work right with BEFRS41 due to PPPoE.

You may have to forward port 21 to the IP address that the FTP server sits on. Not sure that is your problem considering it worked once before, but worth a try http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

thanx for the responses guyz.. i think i figured it out.. i gave my computers all static ip's and the ftp seems to work fine with the correct ports forwarded now.. qui-gon i would go with the router if i were you although its alot cheaper your way!
