Just installed my Linksys BEFS41 today, went fine, no problems, can game online, etc. Just running 2 boxes utilizing Win98 SE.

What do I have to do, to be able to network the computers? I would like to to share files, like Quicken, on both machines through the network. Pretty much a novice at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Each PC needs File and Printer Sharing installed, drives/folders shared, and a unique log in name and computer name. That's it.

How do I accomplish this, in 3 easy steps? Thanks for any help, I need it. I can't even get it to recognize my other computer.

Steve, Go in to your network properties in the control panal and add Client for microsoft network. plus File and printer shareing for Microsoft Network. After reboot and when the sign in sreen comes up Add name and password. Do this to both computers. Make sure each computers have different Names and password. If you have Tweakui . You can go in to network properties in it and have it sign you on automaticly. After you set every thing up on both computers. Hope this helps.

Storm - Thanks a lot, I will try that, I knew there was an easy way to do it. Do I have to do this on both computers? Again, thanks.

After you install Client for Microsoft Networks, share your folders/drives of choice by going to My Computer, right clicking on a drive/folder and selecting sharing. That should do it. Check to see if your LAN is operational by going to Network Neighborhood (on the desktop).

When I click on Net Neighborhood, I keep getting unable to browse the network errors. I have Client for Microsoft network on both machines, set up user passwords on both, different names, etc. I did get the drive sharing stuff, but then it asked me something about user access? Thanks for the help so far.

Finally got my computers talking to each other today. I had a bad NIC driver on one card, had to reinstall, delete & reload the adapters/protocols/bindings, and then finally all was copacetic. Thanks for the help.
