View Full Version : AT&T CHANGES TO DHCP
AT@T just switched from static IPs to DHCP... i have the Linksys 1 port router, with a small network hooked to it. i was wondering what changes do i have to make to the router... all teh computers have DHCP enabled, as does the router.
You may still have a static IP (or semi-static IP), so to speak. My IP is assigned to me dynamically, however, it hasn't changed since I got cable (about 6 months ago). I heard that @Home only changes IPs once or twice a yr.

not really.. and you can still run most types of servers (games, ftp, ect.).. your ip may just change eventually causing you to update your friends or whoever plays on it...
Is there any downside to having a dynamic IP other than not being able to run a server?
