Recently I got myself cable internet (gasps), and from that time on I've been experiencing abnormal system reboots (just happens by itself).
However, I have noticed that this only occurs whilst my modem is SENDING data - for example - I send a large email, or transfer a large file. What also happens sometimes is the wonderful windows blue screen appears (MSTCP error)... which closes the responsible appliation (namely the app which is doing the sending)
I have tried looking around for a solution, however I have been unsuccessful! I would really appreciate if someone could help me, because frankly, it's get VERY annoying!!
Thanks,
Mr Bernie (bernie@zhytek.com)(ICQ#11203153)
Sounds like you got an IRQ conflict. Try changing the IRQ of your NIC (or change the slot that it is in). You can change the IRQ thru windows or the mobo's BIOS.

Hmm, I tried putting the NIC into a different slot, as well as changing the IRQ for it, but no success http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/frown.gif
Whenever i upload know, I constantly get a wonderful blue screen (winsock2 error) - this causes the application to terminate.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Bernie
You may have a bad NIC. What brand is it and what motherboard are you using?

Well, the pc that it's happening on is (quite) old - p166... http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
I've tried 2 different NIC's in it - currently I'm using the dodgy one that cam with the modem (optus@home).
If there is nothing I can do - I'll simply wait until I get my new pc.
