View Full Version : Can you suggest a Router??
I currently have a LAN set up in my office and we needed a router for our DSL line. We need a router that will provide good firewall protection but can will access to our other offices so that can upload and download data as necessary.
I recommend building a server and using it as an ICS, firewall, and file server machine. Most router firewalls don't protect past layer 3. Software firewalls on the other hand cover all 7 layers.

I believe most proxy software, such as Sygate, covers all layers. If not, you can always get BlackICE or other software firewalls that do.
