Will my Alcatel Modem work as a dhcp server for my lan as well?

Im a new adsl user who wants to set up my Alcatel "Speedtouch Home" modem to serve multiple pcs. This seems to be a very versatile product, but Will it also act as a dhcp server for my LAN?
I had bought a Linksys Etherfast Cable / DSL router to switch both my ADSL and my LAN ... but then realized that maybe the ALCATEL could do it alone. I have a separate hub I can hook up.

If this makes sense to anyone, some advice would be appreciated.

Yeah its called : purchase more ip's. If you dont want to pay for more ip's, you have to use the router.
