Ok. Need some help here. I am involved in setting up a web host, and about 100 stations, I am interested in what feedback I get about firewall and proxy setup. Thinking of useing NT4 and MS-Proxy to get access to the 100+ stations. I am interested in a good hardware firewall so the web server will be safe.

Well, In my own experience, NT sucks as a proxy. There's really no nice way to say it, it just sucks.

I'd personally recomend a setup like this:

A FreeBSD (www.freebsd.org) box connected to both the internet, as well as your hub/switch.

The BSD box can go all sorts of fun things to share an internet connection with a hell of a lot of clients, you can also set it up to do some firewall stuff too (pretty powerful) though you may want to use a harware firewall.

To simplify the setup of the internal network, I recomend using a windows NT box set up as a DHCP server, NT 4 Server will run on basically anything with a better CPU than a toaster http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hopefully that all makes sense, and good luck
