HELP. I was thinking that my real slow network was due to older 10BaseT cards. Bought three linksys 10/100 EtherFast cards and installed them using a new linksys BEFSR41 DSL/CABLE router. No cable yet but have a 3COM 3CR29220 ready when the finally get it to the house.
I thought the slow transfer speeds would go away but it's as slow as ever. How slow you ask? 20+ seconds for a 500K file.
Would some kind person be willing to help me figure out what is going on. I am somewhat hardware oriented (12 years as a tech but minimal network time)
System Specs.
Peer to Peer network
Sys one
Pentium 333
128M
OS= WIN98
linksys 10/100 NIC
56 K modem
Sys Two
Pentium 450
128M
OS= WIN98SE
linksys 10/100 NIC
56K modem
Linksys DSL/CABLE Router
Need to get this baby up and going soon
