View Full Version : Simultaneous ASDL and cable network connections
Kharmaguru asked on 8/25 and now me. I have both and, when cable is down (3-6 times per wk) I switch WAN cables plugged into Linksys BEFSR41, reconfigure in the browser, reboot, etc.. This all takes hmmmm... 5 minutes. How can I do it otherwise w/o spending $600 + on a 2 WAN ported router???
Check this on for size.
Why not use both your Cable and DSL service at the same time? If one were to drop out, the other would still be running... sound too good to be true? Checkout Vicomsoft SurfDoubler. You can combine multiple internet connections, IPs, ISPs!! I have @home service currently, but my outgoing speed is capped at 128k. I have the option of getting freedsl service in this area as well.... 384k tx on freedsl and 128k tx on @home... 512k transmit speed! Turning those 16k/sec sends into 64k/sec sends http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif try it on for size... I'm going to.

Thanx on that come back re. SurfDoubler. Reviewed the website etc. Looks like you'd need a PC to act as a dedicated internet server. I'm trying to just keep connectivity w. a 24/7 router, but pricewise, SurfDoubler may be the only way to do it.Thanx again...
Yes, you need a server computer if you are connecting multiple computers on a LAN... otherwise the "server" computer gets all the speed http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
