Anyone heard of comcast actually disabling service for breach of TOS. I'm already running a webserver, but I keep that low key. But what I want to do is setup a mail server but It'll have to have real dns setting, any thoughts?

Be Careful!!!!!!!!!!
My Cable ISP just threatened to kill my service fot running a mail server.
However, They were only really upset about the fact that my SMTP server wasnt secure and people couild spam through it. I secured the server, and now they're happy.
I've been running servers (http,pop3,smtp,dns) on both my cable account for about a year and a half now, and that was the only incident I've had, so as long as you're careful to secure everything, you should be fine. If the unthinkable happens and they get pissed at you, they will more than likely just give you a warning the first time anyway.

Oh, I could see that they'd be pissed about that, but I guess I will make the necessary adjustments to my setup. You ever find out how they nailed you? Sniffers at the head end? Thanks for the info..
