I just purchased this router and need to put up an FTP server when a customer needs a file larger then it can be emailed.
I enabled DMZ Host to 192.168.1.100 where the FTP server is, but I can't connect.

Also, if I just type in a browser window my IP address from the ISP, the router's setup window comes up, this wont help much if I were to have a web server up also for transfering files if the customer doesnt have an FTP program.

I have added ports 21 and 80 to the filters and directed them to 192.168.1.100.

I'm I misssing a setting or is there something wrong with the router, I have firmware 1.30.

Serv-U ftp server works fine for me and I don't need to put my server on DMZ. Few things, DHCP must be disabled. I have redirected port 21 to that computer running ftp server. I don't quite understand why you are using filters. I don't have any filters.

All u need is to forward port 21 to the internal IP. And thats all. If ur clients are using a browser then in the address line they would need to type out....
ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
or
ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21
1 or the other will work if not 1.

I've been using Serv-U for a few months behind the Linky and never had any FW probs.
Hope this helps.
FYI: unless you plan on doing remote admin to your linky then I would recommend you disable that function.
