we are a new ISP that want to offer ADSL for customers. and i just to know how much bandwidth in MB'S (liek 512k or 2MB or whatever) how much bandwidth isp needs to offer adsl to 500 customers.
wil 512k enough?
will 2mb enough?
will more?
and how do we start.. what equitment is needed.

Ahhhm, it might seem like a stupid question, but shouldn't you know those things as an ISP??? And don't seriously think that 512k (even if you mean bytes, not bits) will be enough for 500 customers?

all i want to know is how much bandwidth is needed for each 500 custoemrs.

like every500 customers need 2MB line to the net or every500 customers need T3 45MB to the net or every 500 need oc3 155mb to thenet..
you got my point?
im trying to understand how much bandwidth i will need atleast at start when i will offer adsl for 500 custoemrs (i will have 10mb atm to the telco)

If you guarantee a 640Kbs connection to the internet, then you need to have 640*x(x=number of customers at each DSLAM) bandwith for each DSLAM to connect to your network. 100 customers per DSLAM = 64 Megabit bandwidth required at each DSLAM, plus you have to add all that capacity up at your ISP and boost your connections accordingly.

OR

You can do what everyone else does. Hook up a DS1 to each DSLAM and hope nobody can count when the DSLAM gets full, and hope they can't count again when they all try to get through your measly 10 megabyte connection at the same time. That seams to be the approach of every other DSL provider.
