OK a little more info have file sharing and print sharing enabled right clicked on both c drives and enabled sharing full control.
192.168.1.1 = Linksys
192.168.1.2 = cr250 computer
192.168.1.3 = yz426 computer
yz426 will ping itself and cr250. cr250 will ping itself but will not ping yz426. both cards are set to auto sense both nics are linksys lne100tx ver 2.

the ip's for the two computers should be 192.168.1.102 and 192.168.1.103 (you can use any ips in the range from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.254).

waferdog thanks for the reply i have tcp/ip settings set to obtain an ip address automatically. In the linksys setup page under dhcp I have dhcp enabled starting ip address is 192.168.1.100 and it gave yz426 192.168.1.100 and cr250 192.168.1.101. If this is not correct let me know once again thanks and i will the starting ip address at 192.168.1.102

Are you talking about sharing files/folders? If so just use MS file/printer sharing and use Netbeui. Do not have f/p sharing, MS Networks bound to TCP/IP. Follow the instructions given on www.grc.com (http://www.grc.com) at the Shields Up section on binding your adapter/protocols correctly. Also read www.timhiggins.com (http://www.timhiggins.com)
I use the Linksys cable/dsl router and am sharing files/folders/printer just fine and secure.

Pest Control thanks for the reply. I got it to work but. Does it matter if they are bound or not this thing is firewall? I checked it with shields up port probe and it did not connect. I appreciate the help.

File and Printer sharing behind the firewall is no prob at all. I have it enabled on 6 systems in my home with the linksys router, been using this setup for over six months, Also I monitor traffic with several software based firewalls >>> no one gets into my S**T.
