I live in Argentina and I have a Wireless Modem from my isp, Velocom. It´s a high speed connection here in Argentina and competes with cablemodem. Here is my question
The Wireless Modem is connected to a hub and i have 2 computers connected on these hub also. I have one Nic in each computer and I´m using ICS to share the connection. Do I need 2 NIC on one of the computers? What can go wrong using one in each computer and connecting the Wireless Modem to the Hub. Right now is working like this but maybe is not working the way is supposed to be working.
Thanks for any comments.

It will work just find with one nick. Why do you want to out a seconed one in. The only reason I think you would need a seconed one is if you want Lan connection sense you are useing a software program. Hope this helps!

Because a hub sends data to all ports, reguardless of it's intended destination, you are putting unecessary data traffic towards your wireless modem when you are merely sending data across your local network. I think you have the right idea to put two nics in one of your computers. That way local data traffic does not get sent to the modem. BTW, the modem just rejects the data anyway, but it still can lead to performance bottlenecks if your are using your modem AND sending data across your network simultaniously.

So, if i´m not sending information trough my lan while I´m surfing, I don´t need a second nic. Is that the idea?

I think what he ment was . Yes go ahead and
put a seconed nic in if you want to for LAN.
This way the local data does not go to the modem. But you can still have performance bottlenecks. In other words slow down periods..If you are not useing Lan then just go with one nick and it will work fine. Hope this helps.
