There are several brands and types around. You might want to check out this page if the cable part is "impossible". http://www.linksys.com/products/group.asp?grid=3
I'm not sure if I had understand all the specs, but it seem that I can't get more than 1Mbps on phone lines.
My cable connection is almost always higher than 1,8Mbps and I iften get about 4Mbps.
Another thing I need is 10Mbps speed. It's possible?
jump,
There are a number of things you can probably do if you don't want to go the route of a wired LAN.
1) HOME PNA - Phone Networking - basically use the phone wiring in your apt/house to act as your wired LAN. There are products from Intel, 3COM, Diamond/s3, Linksys that all do this (others too). Version 2.0 of the spec allows for 10 mpbs speeds. You can figure out a simple way to share a connection to your cable modem after this.
Check out: http://www.timhiggins.com/networking/phonelineprod.htm for some info
2) Wireless - With this, you have a couple of competing standards including HomeRF and 802.11 etc. Also in the not too far distance there will be Bluetooth. In any event, there are some devices out there that work pretty well like the Apple Airport which will work with 802.11b compliant adaptors. Check out http://www.timhiggins.com/networking/wirelessprod.htm for some product information
Hope this helps
