can anyone help em out wit my linksys router and connecting it to my one way cable modem?
here is my current setup:
ok on my server i have:
one nic
one internal cable modem
and wingate software installed on ther server
the cable is hooked up to the coax
the nic is than connected to the hub, and my roomate and my other computer are connected to the hub also.
and htan wingate client is than installed on both my roomate and my personal machine
that is what i have owrking right now,
its pretty good but sometimes the browser dies and i need to restart internet explorer
so i figured getting the router would solve this since, hardware routing is a better soluition and more stable i htink. and also make our netowork by itslef more effiecnt and faster.
i herad that i need a crossover cable to do it, but i jsut wnat some confirmations
andi want to switch over to a hardware router
