New NIC does not pic up IP from DHCP

Swaped out a 3Com ISA for a Intel PCI. Reset gateway to point to my Ugate 3200 but it still does not get a DHCP address. Running Win98. Unfortunatly also has AOL but did not have a problem before. Any ideas?

Proper drivers are installed? IP set to use DHCP? Speed and duplex set correctly? Is the cable still good? Check all these and let me know what happens. Try to ping something on your network or on the net.

You may have to call your provider if you . Put a new nic in some Providers require this. Mine don't but I have seen it posted before That some do. GoodLuck! ;) Also did you make sure the old Nic drivers are out of the system. This might cause the problem you are haveing. Just a thought! ;) Hope you get it up and running. Plus you could try reinstalling your network from scatch after you install the new nic and reinstall the routers This might just help the router pick up the new nic. GoodLuck :)
