I have 3 Win2k machines sharing a cable modem. I have it setup like this: (Sorry for bad graph in advance)
--cable line--[Modem]--Cat5--[Hub]--<3 Cat5 cables to the 3 PC's
Each machine has its own IP#, RoadRunner in my area only charges an extra $10 per ip, which is a good deal. Each PC has these bound to their Nics:
Client for Mirco$awft Networks
File and Printer Sharing
NWLink NetBios
TCP/IP
jasonk5, I would get a router or convert one of your existing systems into a "server" before paying for extra IPs.

Do you have you Internet connection shreing setup?Plus I think if you go that way you will need a seconed nic for internet shareing. Plus you could also try rleaseing and renewing your Seconed computer Ip if you have one for it. This might help to. :) If you have a seconed Ip you will not need no software or seconed Nic.
