It's possible, but @Home doesn't allow servers of any kind.

Windows2k comes with a http server, or if you have 9x you could try: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/1,10150,0-10001-103-0-1-7,00.html?tag=srch&qt=http+server&cn=&ca=10001

Or better yet, get a cheap PC and install Linux. :)

You could also use an easy-to-remember address. You can get <whatever>.dhs.org addresses off of (you guessed it) www.dhs.org. (http://www.dhs.org.) Or, if you ask nicely I can set you up <whatever>.mp3rc.com.

if you like the domain name ghettohacker.org
just signup as a user its free it would be (username).ghettohacker.org, and that would be your website, its really cool

Easiest way to host a website on Win2k? Use IIS5.0, which comes bundled with it. :p

There are several options. I couldnt find if you told what OS you were running but if you are using NT or 2000 then in I would definately use IIS. You can use PWS if using windows. To make the html pages all you need is notepad really but if you want an easier method of composing html pages, use frontpage or dreamweaver or there are many free html editors available. you can purchase a domain name for like 20 bucks a year and just have url forwarding, or what I do since my IP is dynamic, I url forward to a free web page that has a redirect on that. If you are looking for a simple web server-try analogx simple server the easiest there is(simply drop the html pages into the directory folder). You could also try samba which is pretty easy. Angelifire will give you 50 free megs of webspace and they have a small popup that you can kill. Not sure of your cable connection, but I believe @home caps uploads at 128, of which your probably getting maybe half that, Throw a webserver on there and have people start hitting your site or worse yet ya run an ftp then you try to play an online game and your S.O.L. - Good luck which ever ya choose ;)
