I recently installed the speedguide registry
tweaks for Win2K. They seemed to interfere
with the ICS feature, so i downloaded and
installed the default settings patch.
However, now I still can't access the
internet on my Win98SE comp. The Win98 comp
seems to fetch an IP from the Win2K Pro
DHCP ok, but when I try to access a web site,
it just seems to ping briefly and do nothing
more. I've already tried uninstalling and
reinstalling all network-related protocols on
the 2k machine. Any advice?

My provider is Mediaone Express (Chicagoland area). If this helps, the whole setup used
to work fine when the Win2K machine was a 98se with ICS.

I'll try some of the stuff prey suggested.
In the meantime, ICS was working before the
patches were applied. In fact, I had a
similar problem when the ICS server was a
98se machine; I applied the speedguide tweaks
to it, and ICS failed to work. However, when
I applied the 98 patch uninstall file, ICS
revived itself. Beats me why the same
process won't work with 2k.
